Designing UI/UX for a meditation pod

OpenSeed designs meditation pods for hectic workplaces & other high traffic areas. OpenSeed pods use a combination of of calming sounds, soothing lights, guided meditations, essential oils and other key technological pieces to instill calmness and elevate its users to a higher state of awareness helping them increasing their productivity and maintain good mental health throughout the day. OpenSeed for this very purpose wanted their app’s functionalities and user interfaces to be intuitive and smooth flowing.

I was tasked with redesigning the existing app and adding appropriate functionalities. First came the tablet app which is installed inside every meditation pod and allows users to customise their experience inside the pod with their chosen objective of meditation or relaxation. Then came a mobile app where users in an office can book a time slot to use the pod. And lastly, the admin panel – a web app that let clients modify pod experiences and manage users.

On all three ends the design followed a general theme of meditation and calmness in usage of colour schemes and typography. The end goal of our user interface and user experience was aligned with the goal of these meditation pods which is to relieve the end user of any stress.
