Panda Express Self-Service Kiosk
Designing a self-service kiosk for a fast food chain

Panda Express is one of the largest US-based Chinese fast food restaurants with over 2200 outlets and they wanted to get their self-service kiosks’ UI/UX designed that could address a huge amount of daily customer traffic at their outlets.
The final product delivered to Panda Express was a user interface for their self service kiosks which incorporated the key themes and elements of Panda Express brand which was already present on their websites, mobile apps and other marketing collaterals. This was done to retain the same brand philosophy making it easier for customers to recall the brand. Another important factor was designing big elements on the UI itself to make the process of ordering food via kiosk, an easier task than lining up in queues and going through the hassle of a long human to human interaction.
The UI of the kiosk now utilizes a sidebar to navigate through food categories wherein customers can order dishes and food combos on their own as well as make the final payment for their orders. This has led to increase efficiency for the fast food chain as it directly relates to ease of ordering at their outlets.
